Allied Waste is one of the largest recycling companies in North America. We operate a nationwide network of material recovery facilities that process nearly two million tons of recyclable commodities each year. We collect multiple commodities, including newsprint, corrugated cardboard, old newspaper, office fiber waste, printer’s grades, aluminum cans, multiple plastic grades and much more. Many of these can be commingled at our customer locations to provide a user-friendly recycling program.

Allied Waste offers multiple collection programs, which include single-stream collection, commercial and industrial collection, roll-off, and customized wastepaper collection. Our professional sales force offers training on how to maximize diversion of your waste stream from being delivered into our landfills. This equates to savings and shows our commitment to being your long-term environmental partner. All communication regarding your recycling program is coordinated with Allied Waste.

Each material grade can be weighed and documented to determine the tons being diverted from waste streams. Our recycling facilities sort the different commodities utilizing the latest technologies, which include disk screens, magnets, aluminum separators and air systems as well as optical sorting units.

Landfill Gas-to-Energy

Landfill gas-to-energy projects are the ultimate in recycling, as gas that is a naturally created by-product of landfills is captures and used as an alternate fuel source. Energy from these projects is converted to electricity, offsetting the use of oil and natural gas.
